Our Story

While our Patron Saint of Lindy Hop (Frankie Manning) would be over 100 years old if he was still will us, we are relatively much younger. Since 2012, we have been offering classes, workshops, event planning services and performances all over the city of Vancouver with the sole aim of spreading our dance and great culture to as many people as we can.

The brain child of Robert Helina, a life time resident of British Columbia and Benjamin Ricard, a life time resident of Quebec, Atomic Swing Vancouver is a compilation of business and art working together. These two met in 2012, became instant friends and have been working tirelessly together ever since to bring the dance and culture of the big band era back to life.

Our goal is to bring the “dinner club culture”of days past alive again. The 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s are our inspiration. We imagine a destination for patrons to go for a classy evening out that starts at cocktail hour and continues to night-club style entertainment after appetizers. A mid-century-styled soiree offers a significant change to the typical restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs.

Be ready to dress the part and enjoy a night of dancing, friends and more... oh, and if you don’t know how to dance, check out the Work Shops and Classes pages!
